  1. Ben Steele POW Exhibit

    April 23 - April 30 @ Larchmont Branch Library

He spent three and a half years as a POW, surviving beriberi, dysentery, pneumonia, blood poisoning and malaria. After the war, Steele became a critically acclaimed artist. As he came to terms with his POW experience, he began to draw from memory. Many of those sketches are now preserved at the MacArthur Memorial in Norfolk.
