  1. "A Saturday in Ocean View" photographs by Glen McClure

    March 15 - April 26 @ Offsite Gallery, World Trade Center

    Glen McClure’s photographs forge a connection between the subject and the viewer. For this exhibition, Glen and a team of four created portraits of random people encountered in parking lots, on sidewalks and at the beach entrance to the Chesapeake Bay during a September 29, 2018 visit to the Ocean View neighborhood. With over 60 solo exhibitions since 1997, Glen’s work can be found in collections at the Chrysler Museum of Art, the Mariners’ Museum, the Taubman Museum of Art and in numerous private collections.

    April 12 - April 21 @ Nauticus & Battleship Wisconsin

    In celebration of its 25th birthday, Nauticus is bringing ALBESILA Luminarium by Architects of Air to Downtown Norfolk. This massive labyrinth will immerse you in vibrant color as you walk through its 27 egg-shaped domes with interconnected, winding tunnels. ALBESILA will be located on the MacArthur Center Green at the corner of Freemason Street and Monticello Avenue. Tickets are available on-site for $6. A limited number of $10 Advance Booking tickets that give priority access at a specified time (reducing wait time) are available online only.

    Slover Library Foundation and Virginia Arts Festival are pleased to present: Dance Theatre of Harlem From Black and White to Living Color, on view from April 15 to May 7, 2019 at Slover Library in Norfolk. This exhibition chronicles the first fifty-years of Dance Theatre of Harlem, the legendary ballet company and school based in Harlem, New York. Curated by former Dance Theatre of Harlem dancer Judy Tyrus, Dance Theatre of Harlem From Black and White to Living Color displays sixty-three photographs from the company’s archive, some never seen before, in black and white and in color.

    You’ve seen this hilarious comedian and actress on “Saturday Night Live”—now see her live on stage at the historic Attucks Theatre as part of the Attucks at 100 celebration! Leslie Jones has been a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” for three seasons; her work on that iconic show has garnered her an Emmy Award nomination and inclusion on the Time 100 list. Leslie has covered the summer and winter Olympics for NBC and was the host of The 2017 BET Awards. She is currently recording one of the lead roles in the animated film Angry Birds 2 for Sony Pictures; she also starred in Paul Feig’s reboot of Ghostbusters, alongside Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon.
