    Come out and participate or volunteer for the Heart of Ghent 10K, Maury 5k and Blair Clipper Mile, which rings in the fall season to historic Ghent in Norfolk with a fit, festive, charitable family oriented run/walk through the historic and scenic Ghent neighborhood. With its unique blend of fine restaurants, boutiques, cafes, shopping, professional services, and quiet residential neighborhoods, Norfolk’s Historic Ghent is an ideal location for this great event returning after its successful inaugural year. This event is already becoming a “don’t miss” race on the regional running calendar. Six bands will be playing at party zones along the course to keep runners energized and spectators entertained. Custom race T-shirt, finisher medal for all. Custom awards to overall and age group winners. Awards are also provided to the largest and fastest brewery cup teams

    Join us for an amazing day of CRAFT BEER, Music, Games, Food and Fun. The gates open at 11:00 AM so come early and stay late to enjoy all the day has to offer! Last call is 4:30 PM and taps will close at 5:00 PM. Tickets for UNLIMITED sampling are only $25 in advance, or $35 at the door! We will have craft brewers from all over the region sampling some of their award winning beers. They will be pouring some of your favorites as well as a sneak peek in to what will be on tap for 2020.     Irresistible harmonies and beguiling rhythms mark the joyful performances of this female a cappella quintet from Zimbabwe: Nobuntu. The quintet performs Saturday, September 21 at 7:30 pm at the Attucks Theatre, part of the Attucks at 100 Centennial Celebration. Nobuntu has drawn international acclaim in repertoire that ranges from traditional Zimbabwean songs to jazz to gospel, their pure and powerful voices backed by percussion, traditional instruments such as the Mbira (thumb piano) and organic, authentic dance movements.
