Norfolk Police Detectives have made an arrest possibly related to the shooting and homicide incident Sunday morning in the 1200 block of Reservoir Avenue. Preliminary investigations have revealed that 23-year-old Tecorey D. Fortson of the 100 block of Royal Court in Suffolk, Virginia was present at the shooting scene. Witnesses state Fortson brandished a firearm and threatened an adult female shortly before the shooting incident took place. Fortson sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound prior to fleeing from the area and sought medical assistance hours after the shooting at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk. At this time, Fortson has been charged with one count Brandishing a Firearm and one count Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He is currently being held without bond at the Norfolk City Jail. Norfolk Police Detectives are continuing to actively investigate this incident and are appealing to the public for assistance.
