[ARCHIVED] Norfolk man charged with crashing car through a house

Approximately 12:30 am police were called to the 2700 block of Tidewater Drive for a car that drove into a house, and the driver attempting to flee the scene.

Police responded and quickly apprehended the 39-year-old driver, who has been identified as Marcus D. Timmson of the 5300 block of Marlfield Drive. Marcus has been charged with Felony Hit and Run, DUI 2nd Offense, Drive on a Revoked License (DUI Related), and Refusal to submit a Breath/Blood Sample.

The investigation reveals that Marcus was operating a car northbound on Tidewater Drive, when he lost control, left the roadway, struck a parked Jeep, and drove into the house.

As the car crashed through the home, it struck a 23-year-old man who was sitting on his couch watching television. He received non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.

Marcus Timmson is currently at Norfolk City Jail, awaiting Booking Process.
