[ARCHIVED] Police are investigating a Monday night shooting in Norfolk

Norfolk police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night near Huntersville Recreation Center.

The shooting happened around 8:00 p.m. in Lexington Park, near Tidewater Drive and Goff Street. A 24-year-old man told police that he was walking outside and heard several gunshots.

After he realized he had been shot, he called and waited for police in the 800 block of Goff Street.

The man was taken to the hospital by paramedics with non-life threatening injuries.
