[ARCHIVED] Open door leads to homicide scene

Updated Release 12/15/15:
Norfolk Police have identified Sunday's homicide victim as 35-year-old David Jackson. Mr. Jackson was found dead inside his residence in the 1100 block of Pascal Place after police responded to the address for an open door.

Detectives have not released any suspect description, but encourage anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

Norfolk Police are now classifying an undetermined death as an active homicide investigation.

Police were dispatched to an open door in the 1100 block of Pascal Place shortly after 1:20 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2015. Responding officers located the open door and searched the home, incidentally discovering an unresponsive man.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initially, the incident was classified as an undetermined death. However, during the course of the preliminary investigation, the incident was updated to an active homicide case.

The victim's identity is currently being withheld pending the proper notification of his family members.
