[ARCHIVED] Argument ends with 1 hospital and 1 in jail

NORFOLK, Va. – An argument late Tuesday night ended with one woman in jail, and one man in the hospital with a serious gunshot wound.

Shanna M. Brown, 31, of the 1700 block of Thurgood Street is currently held in the Norfolk Jail with no bond, after detectives say she shot her 26-year-old boyfriend after an argument inside a home in the 1100 block of East City Hall Avenue.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. officers were called to a residence off of East City Hall Avenue for a report of man who had been shot. Upon arrival, police found the man suffering from serious gunshot injury.

Paramedics rushed the 26-year-old to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he is expected to recover.

Brown has been charged with one count each of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Police have not released any details as to why or what led up to the argument.
