NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk detectives are investigating an evening shooting incident that left one hospitalized.
At 7:45 p.m., Norfolk dispatchers received reports of a possible gunshot victim in the 6200 block of Alexander Street. Officers immediately responded to the area and located what appears to be a 12-year-old juvenile suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The boy was alert and spoke with police prior to being transported to an area hospital. His injuries are considered non-life threatening at this time.
Norfolk police detectives are canvassing the neighborhood for possible leads, but have not released any suspect description.
