[ARCHIVED] Man hospitalized after shooting incident


NORFOLK, Va. – Police continue to investigate an evening shooting incident that left one man hospitalized.

Shortly before 8:00 p.m. this evening, Norfolk dispatchers received reports of a possible gunshot victim near Wayman Street. Police and Fire-Rescue responded to the area and discovered a man that had been shot in the 1300 block of Wayman Street.

The man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what appears to be life-threatening injuries.

Detectives remain on scene, as the preliminary investigation is ongoing.
