[ARCHIVED] Man suffers serious injuries following overnight shooting

NORFOLK, Va. – Detectives are investigating a shooting an overnight shooting that has left a man with significant injuries.

Shortly before 2:25 a.m., Norfolk police responded to a call for a gunshot victim in the 4800 block of 49th Street, near Hampton Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located a 24-year-old man inside a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Medics transported the man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what has been described as life-threatening injuries.
