[ARCHIVED] Norfolk police to hold safety checkpoint

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk police will hold a safety checkpoint this Thursday night on Hampton Boulevard.

The checkpoint, which is part of the national “Operation Checkpoint Strikeforce” campaign, will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 and run until midnight in the 2700 block of Hampton Boulevard. 

Officers will be checking for impaired drivers along with other violations that could potentially compromise the safety of others on the road.

Funding for the checkpoint is provided by the Department of Motor Vehicle Highway Selective Enforcement grant.
