NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A Norfolk man was arrested yesterday morning after he was caught breaking into a home in the Estabrook area of Norfolk.

Eric T. Robinson, 22, of the 3400 block of Chesapeake Boulevard, was charged with breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony, grand larceny, and destruction of property.

Around 9:45 a.m., police responded to a burglary in progress in the 3700 block of Nottaway Street. The caller told police that they saw a man, later identified as Robinson, wearing a red shirt breaking into the home.  When officers arrived, Robinson was seen running away from the residence.  After a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into custody.

“This arrest could not have occurred without community involvement and swift police action” said Norfolk Police Chief Larry Boone. “I commend both, the caller and my officers, for their hard work and dedication to protecting our communities.”

There was no one inside the home during the burglary and no injuries were reported.
