NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A Norfolk man has been charged with malicious wounding in connection with a shooting that injured two people on Mariner Street last Friday.
25-year-old Travone Q. Lane, of the 5400 block of Barnhollow Road, has been charged with two counts each of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Lane has been charged in the shooting that injured two people on March 30, 2018.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m., police responded to the 1100 block of Mariner Street for a gunshot disturbance. Once there, they located two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.
One man, age 30, was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The second man, age 28, remains at the hospital in critical condition; however, he is stable at this time.
The investigation has revealed that Lane and the two victims are known acquaintances; however, detectives have not released the motive or circumstance, surrounding this double shooting incident.
Lane is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
