NORFOLK, VA – The City of Norfolk’s government offices, including City Hall, will close on Monday, May 28, 2018 in observance of Memorial Day. The closures include the offices of the Commissioner of the Revenue and the City Treasurer. Offices will reopen at regular business hours on Tuesday, May 29, 2018.
The City of Norfolk Courthouse and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court will close on May 28th. All Norfolk Public Libraries and all recreation centers, including pools, will close Monday, May 28th.
Requests for bulk waste collection on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 must be made before 3 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018. Call the Norfolk Cares Center at (757) 664-6510 or fill out a request online at www.norfolk.gov and click on the Request Tracker. The Household Hazardous Waste and E-waste site on Pineridge Road will close on Monday, May 28, 2018. Norfolk residents can drop-off unwanted E-waste seven days a week/24 hours per day at the Division of Towing and Recovery located at 1188-A Lance Road.
Lifeguards begin beach patrol duty Saturday, May 26, 2018. Patrol hours are 10 am - 6 pm daily through Labor Day. Lifeguards patrol the following city beaches:
Community Beach Park - 700 E. Ocean View Avenue - Norfolk Ave to Chesapeake Blvd.
Sarah Constant Beach Park - 300 W. Ocean View Avenue – 4th View St. to Mason Creek Rd.
Ocean View Beach Park - 100 W. Ocean View Avenue - 1st View St. to Duffy's Lane
