NORFOLK, Va., July 06, 2018 – Join Norfolk Botanical Garden (NBG) and the Butterfly Society of Virginia for the 5th annual Butterfly Festival Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Butterfly House is celebrating its 10th season! Enjoy demonstrations, gardening workshops, and fun activities for butterfly enthusiasts of all ages. Learn about the butterfly life cycle and how you can attract pollinators to your yard.
Enjoy food vendors, children’s activities, face painting, a beanbag toss, several craft stations, and special butterfly activities in the children's garden. Take a tram ride out to the festival and Butterfly House for an up-close experience with butterflies and caterpillars. It's an experience you won't want to miss!
The Garden is continuing its message to save the Monarch butterfly with Mission Monarch: Project Milkweed which focuses on the life and issues of the monarch butterfly population. You can help monarch butterflies by planting one milkweed plant, the only food source for monarch caterpillars! The Butterfly Society of Virginia will sell butterfly attracting plants including milkweed during the festival.
The Butterfly Festival is FREE with Garden admission and will take place in the Garden's Bristow Butterfly Garden. Fall in love with butterflies at Norfolk Botanical Garden!
