The City of Norfolk’s government offices, including City Hall and all libraries, will be closed on Monday, September 3, 2018 in observance of Labor Day.
NORFOLK, VA - The City of Norfolk’s government offices, including City Hall and all libraries, will be closed on Monday, September 3, 2018 in observance of Labor Day. The closures include the offices of the Commissioner of the Revenue and the City Treasurer. Offices will reopen at regular business hours on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court will also be closed on Monday, September 3, 2018 and reopen on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
Beaches will be open normal operating hours, including Monday, September 3, 2018. Norfolk Fitness and Wellness Center’s outdoor pool will be open 11 am – 7 pm and Chesterfield outdoor pool will be open from 1 – 6 pm on Monday, September 3, 2018. Outdoor swimming pools and splash pads will close for the season on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 and beach lifeguards will go off duty. All other Recreation, Parks and Open Space facilities, including indoor swimming pools and the Norfolk Fitness and Wellness Center, will be closed Monday, September 3, 2018 and will reopen on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
Requests for bulk waste collection on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 must be made before 3 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018. To schedule bulk waste collection, call the Norfolk Cares Center at (757) 664-6510 or fill out a request online at
www.norfolk.gov and click on the Request Tracker. The Household Hazardous Waste and E-waste site on Pineridge Road will close on Monday, September 3, 2018. Norfolk residents can drop-off unwanted E-waste seven days a week/24 hours per day at the Division of Towing and Recovery located at 1188-A Lance Road.
