$5,000 Friends of Norfolk Public Library Donation Expands Collections and Adds New Social Justice and Activism Titles
NORFOLK, VA – Norfolk Public Library (NPL) expands its collections with the help of a generous $5,000 donation from The Friends of the Norfolk Public Library. The donation is being partially used to purchase additional copies of currently popular books. This step will help to reduce hold times and better meet community needs.
Another portion of the gift money is being used to purchase access to new fiction and nonfiction eBooks and eAudiobooks for all ages that address social justice and activism. The curation of additional titles for NPL’s digital collection meets the growing demand for these topics.
NPL’s digital collection is available 24/7 at http://bit.ly/NPLBooksMore. You can browse, sample, place holds and download directly to your computer or digital device, and, our digital collection is free for Norfolk residents, Norfolk property owners, Norfolk business owners, and those who are employed in Norfolk. Other Virginia residents can access the digital collection for an annual fee of $35.00.
