Certificate recognizes Achievement in Excellence for NERS’ Fiscal Year 2020 CAFR

NORFOLK, VA – The Norfolk Employees’ Retirement System (NERS) received the Certificate of Achievement in Excellence from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its Fiscal Year 2020 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. This marks the 16th consecutive year that the Norfolk Employees’ Retirement System has been recognized with the honor.

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. This demonstrates the high standards that NERS holds for its financial reporting and that members can be confident that their retirement fund is soundly managed and that NERS staff members are accountable stewards of the funds in their care.
