(Norfolk-Va.) – With the steady increase of COVID-19 cases across Hampton Roads, public health officials are announcing this week that they are adding a day for COVID-19 testing at the Military Circle Mall (located at 880 N Military Highway). This clinic will be separate from ongoing vaccination clinics at the MCM.
To help reduce the spread of illness in the community, Dr. Parham Jaberi, Acting Health Director for Norfolk and Virginia Beach Health Department notes, “it is critical for all community members eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations to receive the vaccine as soon as possible.” In addition he shares, “individuals should seek COVID-19 testing upon developing COVID-like symptoms or if exposed to someone ill with COVID.”
The testing event at the Military Circle Mall is free to the public, and will be held on August 25, 2021 from 1-5 pm. Testing is for those 3 years old and up. No pre-registration is required. “Just Show Up” report public health officials. You will be notified of your test results by phone. Please answer your phone.
Test results at this time are shared only with the person tested. Results reporting to employers has not yet been established. Additional testing clinics at the MCM is being actively considered for weeks to follow.
Vaccinations are also provided at no charge to the public and will continue on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, from 2 pm - 6 pm and Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 10 am - 2 pm. First and second doses are available for ages 12 and up. Those who are immunocompromised are welcome to receive a third dose (Pfizer/Moderna) if 28 days or more has passed since their last dose. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian accompanying them in order to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
