NORFOLK, VA – Tuesday, January 25, is National Poll Worker Recruitment Day, and the Norfolk Office of Elections would like to celebrate and thank the city’s amazing volunteer Poll Workers. This dedicated group of volunteers have ensured elections in Norfolk continue to be fair, open, and faithfully run.
This day is also an opportunity to encourage others to serve in 2022 as a Poll Worker or Officer of Election. Poll Workers run the election at each voting precinct by checking in voters, helping the disabled vote, ensuring the accuracy of the results, and maintaining a welcoming polling precinct.
Currently, there is a shortage of Poll Workers in Norfolk, the region and nationally. Those interested should visit www.norfolk.gov/elections or fill out the online form here to become a Poll Worker/Officer of Election in Norfolk or any Virginia locality.
