Open later, longer and more days starting Sept. 1
NORFOLK, VA – In response to the growing demand and commitment to finding loving homes for animals in need, Norfolk Animal Care Center (NACC) is pleased to announce expanded adoption hours. Starting on Sept. 1, NACC will be open from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day except Wednesday.
These extended hours will give individuals and families with more opportunities and greater flexibility to visit the shelter, meet adoptable animals and explore the adoption process.
“We are excited to expand our adoption hours,” states Alison Fechino, NACC Chief Executive Officer. “By accommodating a wider range of schedules, we hope to match more animals with loving families and create more successful adoptions. This expansion reflects our dedication to the well-being of animals and our commitment to finding them the best homes possible.”
Administration hours are also expanding to allow residents to conduct animal service transactions such as owner surrenders, license purchases/inquiries and community resource guidance. Medical emergencies and lost and found services will continue daily from open to close.

Unable to adopt right now? Residents can still help by fostering a medium or large dog. Fostering is free and all supplies are provided. Visit the shelter to find a temporary companion and be a part of a homeless pet’s lifesaving journey. Volunteers and donations are always welcome.
