Senior Dogs in Norfolk Fetch Grant

Friends of NACC awarded The Grey Muzzle Organization grant.

NORFOLK, VA – Older dogs have something to wag their tails about! The Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center (FNACC) has been selected to receive a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization to help senior dogs in Norfolk live their best lives.

“This grant will help us keep senior dogs in their homes by providing financial assistance to families who may be struggling to afford medical care, behavioral help, and pet deposits,” says Joy Eyrolles from Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization supporting Norfolk Animal Care Center (NACC).

Residents in need of assistance with their senior dog, aged seven and up, are encouraged to contact NACC at (757) 441-5505 for a consultation and to determine the need for assistance. Once qualified, funds will be distributed directly to the veterinary care provider, trainer, or landlord.

“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we’re delighted to help Friends of NACC support senior dogs and their families,” said Lisa Lunghofer, executive director of The Grey Muzzle Organization. “Many senior dogs in Norfolk are enjoying their golden years in loving homes thanks to the wonderful work of NACC and Friends of NACC.”

There are many wonderful dogs of all ages at NACC just waiting for their forever family. Visit to see all adoptable pets and learn more about the adoption process and how to be a part of a homeless pet’s lifesaving journey. Fostering, volunteering, and donating are also great ways to help.
