  2. MacArthur Memorial 3rd Annual Military History Film Festival

    August 9, 7:00 PM - October 31, 9:00 PM @ The MacArthur Memorial Visitors Center

    The MacArthur Memorial is hosting its third annual Military History Film Festival August – October 2018. To commemorate the World War I Centennial, the 2018 films will focus on the courage and sacrifice of American troops in World War I. The film festival will kick off on August 9, 2018. In partnership with the Military Aviation Museum of Virginia Beach, the MacArthur Memorial will screen The Millionaires' Unit (2015) (120 mins).The festival will continue with screenings of The Fighting 69th (1940) on September 13, 2018 and Sergeant York (1941) on October 4, 2018. All screenings will take place in the MacArthur Memorial Visitors Center Theatre at 7:00 PM. Admission is FREE but registration is requested.   4. Colombian Tall Ship, ARC GLORIA, to Visit Norfolk

    September 18, 10:00 AM - September 21, 8:00 PM @ Town Point Park - Downtown Norfolk Waterfront

    Tuesday, September 18, 2018 the Colombian Navy sail training tall ship “ARC GLORIA” is scheduled to arrive in Downtown Norfolk, docking at Otter Berth in between Town Point Park and Waterside District. The ARC GLORIA’s last visit to Norfolk was part of the OpSail 2012 Virginia fleet. The ship will depart Friday, September 21, 2018. The City of Norfolk is the only US port call for the ship’s 2018 sail training tour.The public is invited to tour the ship Wednesday, September 19 – Friday, September 21, 2018 from 10AM to 8PM daily.
