  1. Attucks Theatre Community Centennial Celebration

    October 4, 2019, 7:00 PM - October 5, 2019, 9:00 PM @ Attucks Theatre

    A two-day celebration will add a community element to the Attucks Centennial celebration by inviting organizations to showcase the history of the Attucks and the various roles it has served in the community throughout each decade. The 100th Anniversary Community Celebration is hosted in partnership with the City of Norfolk, Seven Venues, the Virginia Arts Festival, and Norfolk Public Libraries. The 100th Anniversary Celebration kicks off Friday, Oct. 4 at 5:30 p.m. with a silent film and entertainment in the style of the 1920’s and 1930’s at the Attucks Theatre. The celebration will continue Saturday, Oct. 5 with an Arts in the Park celebration featuring various incubator groups that once held residence at the Theatre. The event will continue Saturday evening at the Attucks Theatre, with performances highlighting musical performances throughout the ages, focusing this time on the 1940’s and 1950’s.
