As a black female artist working and learning in Richmond, VA, which was once the center of slave trading in the region, Nastassja Swift explores how the ancestral footsteps of black women have contributed to the stories and history of black girlhood in Richmond, VA. Consisting of wearable fiber sculptures, photography & film, "Remembering Her Homecoming" illustrates a moment of remembrance & reflection on the women who have roamed the spaces before us. "Remembering Her Homecoming" By Nastassja Swift, Marlon Turner and Torian Ugworji on view through January 17, 2020.

More than 30 local crafters, artists and retailers will fill The Plot at 776 Granby Street on Saturday, December 14 from Noon to 4 pm*. Find art from local painters and sculptors, homemade crafts, holiday decorations, vintage items, organic skincare, jewelry, bags, fashion and much more. Enjoy hot and savory treats, sparkling lights and festive caroling while you shop! Plus live acoustic music from Axel Rasmussen, everyone's favorite Santa brass band and local favorites Two Hand Touch. The market is free and open to the public.     Based on the popular book by Barbara Robinson, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is the funny, heartwarming, and mildly irreverent story of what happens when a church play is hijacked by six of the 'absolutely worst kids in the history of the world'. A holiday tradition for 28 years, this event is presented with Happy Hanukkah, My Friend; a short program celebrating the Festival of Lights. Sharon D.
