  2. Virginia Stage Company, Public Works VA presents Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors

    Virginia Stage Company’s Public Works Virginia will present Comedy of Errors to public outdoor playing spaces across Hampton Roads. This zany and unexpected adaptation of Shakespeare's play, adapted by Ryan Clemens (A Christmas Carol, Meet Mark Twain) and directed by Steve Pacek (The Legend of Georgia McBride) goes beyond the schtick to play with the concept of family and the power of belonging. The tour will be presented in public parks, outdoor venues, and The Wells Theatre on weekends during May 2021.

  3. d'Art Center presents "Merged II: d'Art Center's Second National Exhibition of Collage and Assemblage"

    Work downtown? Want to ride? Participate in National Bike to Work Day on May 21st! For some that might mean changing up your commute to two wheels, but for others still working from home, biking to coffee or around the block is a perfect excuse to get out. However you celebrate, just #bikethere! Visit one or all six pit stops throughout Norfolk and pick up water, snacks and bike freebies. Pit Stops will be located at: * MacArthur Square Tide Station * Elizabeth River Ferry Dock * The Plot * Elizabeth River Trail at Orapax Street & Raleigh Avenue * Colley Avenue at Local Bike Shop * ODU Webb Center

    Looking for some outdoor fun for the entire family? Join us for a free Family Movie Night, a drive-in showing of Aladdin on Friday, May 21, at the Military Circle Mall parking lot by the former Cinemark, 880 N. Military Highway.   3. 2021 Glow Ride

    Get on your bike for a night time ride in the NEON District! Riders of all ages and experience levels are welcome to attend this free group ride. Meet at 8:00pm at The Plot in your best glow in the dark clothes, bike gear, gloves or shoes, with flashing lights and glow sticks. Free Bike Month t-shirts to riders. We roll at 8:30! Due to COVID restrictions, riders will be required maintain social distancing before and during the event. Masks will be required until the ride begins. Riders will be separated in pods and corrals at the Plot's staging area before the ride begins. Let's keep it fun and safe! Glow Ride V is an organized ride for Norfolk Bike Month facilitated by the City of Norfolk Government Bicycling and Pedestrian Trails Commission and Downtown Norfolk. Final route to be posted before the ride. Children 14 years old and younger are required to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle. Although it is not required, it is highly recommended that all cyclists wear helmets
