The open call for artists reached 39 states. 268 artists submitted for a total of 996 submissions, and d’Art’s Gallery Manager, and the juror, Diane Husson, selected 65 pieces from 58 artists from 25 states for the exhibition! Flourish is an exhibition of artworks that feature floral and botanical artworks from across the country! Artist Rebecca King Hawkinson maintains a working studio practice in Black Mountain, teaching students, making new paintings, and taking portrait commissions. The artist regularly still travels to Europe to paint in the countryside. This April the artist returns to the South of France to create new works of art. The 2022 Keeping History Above Water is being hosted by the Norfolk Preservation Collective, the City of Norfolk’s Office of Resilience, and Old Dominion University’s Institute for Coastal Adaptation and Resilience.
