  1. Chrysler Museum – M.C. Escher: Infinite Variations

    The Chrysler Museum will present more than 150 works by M.C. Escher from the collection of Paul and Melinda Firos of Athens, Greece in M.C. Escher: Infinite Variations. The exhibition will showcase works that span Escher’s career, including the iconic Day and Night, in which two flocks of birds in flight blend into Holland’s landscape, and Ascending and Descending, a 1960 print of an impossible building with a staircase that mirrors a möbius strip. This comprehensive exhibition will trace the imagery that made Escher one of the world’s most recognized artists and feature the full range of media in which he worked, including woodcuts, lithographs, etchings, and even a lithography stone.

  2. Hermitage Museum and Gardens presents "Lugo: Pottery with Purpose"

    Beginning June 10th, 2022 the Hermitage Museum will feature ceramic artist Roberto Lugo for a four-month solo exhibition. Lugo is an artist, activist, educator, poet, and the founder of Village Potter. He is most recognized for his hand thrown ceramic work that contrasts traditional ceramic forms such as porcelain teapots and urns with subject matter that is culturally and politically motivated. The exhibition will focus on his work that celebrates and examines current and historic figures who have made an impact in social justice and race relation issues and reflect on his multicultural and BIPOC experiences.

  5. Back To School Drive 2022

    Help us send our kids back to school prepared & participate in our Back To School Drive! Donate new school supplies at any of the following locations until August 18: Bayview Recreation Center, 8613 Willow Terrace Blvd. Crossroads Community Center, 8019 Old Ocean View Rd. Fairlawn Recreation Center, 1014 Kempsville Rd. Sherwood Forest Community Center, 4537 Little John Dr. Tarrallton Community Center, 2100 Tarrallton Dr. Then, on Saturday, August 27, join us at the Southside STEM Academy at Campostella for our Back To School Drive event from 11am-2pm. The event is free to the public and will feature vendors, free haircuts, games, music and more. The donated supplies will be distributed at 1pm and the site that gathers the most donations will receive a pizza party!
