Black Orpheus: Jacob Lawrence and the Mbari Club will explore the connection between African American artist Jacob Lawrence and his contemporaries based in the Global South through the Nigerian publication Black Orpheus. The exhibition features over 125 objects, including Lawrence’s little-known 1964–65 Nigeria series, works by the artists featured in Black Orpheus, archival images, videos, and letters.

Do you know a child who loves to sing? The Virginia Children’s Chorus will hold auditions for new students for the spring 2023 season on Saturday, January 7, Monday, January 9 and Tuesday, January 10. These auditions will be held at our Norfolk location - Talbot Park Baptist Church, 6919 Granby St., Norfolk. All audition timeslots are scheduled in advance. Classes begin in September! We welcome boys and girls entering grades 1 to 12 – from young beginners to serious high school singers. Tuition assistance is available. All students receive excellent voice training and perform in concert while making new friends and having fun!
