“Blue Musings” is a study of nature. Each piece is a practice in artistic mindfulness, of living in the moment of creation. Using the historical process of cyanotype & collage, Kirby has created unique compositions of found florals & historical photographs that touch on the themes of motherhood, family, & the duality of the intense love & intense sadness of postpartum depression.
During the opening reception, guests are invited to participate in collaborative origami as Kirby shares her process of creating butterflies made from cyanotypes on vintage paper.
Hanna Kirby is the Director of Operations & Communications for the Hunter House Victorian Museum in Norfolk, VA.
