Before/After School Program
RPOS Before & After School Program
  • Before/After-School Program for Norfolk residents ages 5-12 during the NPS school year
    • Participants must be enrolled in kindergarten through the fifth grade at the elementary school adjacent to the six participating recreation centers
      • Bayview, Crossroads, Fairlawn, Sherwood Forest, Tarrallton, Young Terrace
  • Costs:    
    • NEW - Payments are now made monthly. The first payment is due at registration. Following payments are due by the 5th of each month following.
      • $160 per month for before or after care
      • $240 per month for both before and after care

Summer Camp

RPOS wants to give your child a summer filled with fun, memories and learning! We recognize families have different needs when it comes to child care; there are offerings to include multiple options for your family. All campers must also have a Facility Use Card to participate.   • Camp Willoughby - held at Captain's Quarters, kids 6-12 engage in water and other activities like kayaking, fishing and field trips. Registration is by lottery on April 13 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Camp Wake Up! - Kids 5-12 enjoy exciting recreational activities, special guests and field trips at one of five Norfolk recreation centers. Extended hours run 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. In-person registration begins April 14 at 8:30 a.m. (closes each day at 12:30 p.m.) View camp handbook here
  • Camp Get Out & Play! - Find a convenient location at one of 12 camp locations in Norfolk where kids 5-12 enjoy traditional and new camp activities, field trips and special guests. In-person registration begins April 16 at 10:00 a.m. View camp handbook here.
  • Norview Navigators - Designed for older campers (ages 13-16), the late start (10:00 a.m.) means teens can get all the sleep they need to engage in summertime shenanigans at Norview Community Center! Early birds can pop in as early as 8:30 a.m. for a healthy breakfast. In-person registration opens April 16 at 10:00 a.m. 

PLEASE NOTE: Registration is for the entire summer and is final. No refunds will be issued. Fees will not be pro-rated for missed days for any reason. 

The following must be submitted at time of registration for all camps:
  • Medication list
  • Original birth certificate
  • Divorce or custody papers as applicable for authorization to pick up child
  • Registration forms will be available at each site on registration day
  • Inclusion form (if needed) 
  • Sunscreen use
  • Swimming permission
  • Registration will not be accepted without payment.
  • Payment may be made by credit card or money order payable to: Norfolk City Treasurer.  No cash or personal checks accepted.
