Commission on Aging/Long-Term Care
Pursuant to section 51.5-138 of the Code of Virginia, this Commission advises the director of Human Services on the coordination with other agencies and organizations or programs that help analyze and solve the needs of elderly persons in Norfolk pursuant to City Code section 2-286.

The board shall consist of twelve (12) members who shall serve without compensation.

Membership Composition:

Fifteen (15) members, with one representative from each of the following organizations:

Department of Public Health, who must be a member from the local nursing home pre-admission screening team; Department of Human Services; Community Services Board; The Southeastern Virginia Area Wide Model Program; The Norfolk Task Force on Aging; a representative from a local adult care residence; a medical practitioner.

The remaining seven members are citizens-at-large, and all serve for three year terms.
