Norfolk Airport Authority
The Norfolk Airport Authority, in accordance with the Norfolk City Charter section 144 (a), manages and controls the operation and maintenance of the Norfolk International Airport. The authority is authorized to adopt rules and regulations, and to establish such fees and charges for the operation, maintenance and use of the airport, pursuant to section 5.1-31 & 5.1-36 of the Code of Virginia.

Membership Composition:

Commissioners are appointed by the Norfolk City Council, serve for terms of four (4) years, and are known as port commissioners. One-third of the commissioners may be from areas outside the City of Norfolk; the remaining commissioners must be residents of Norfolk. The commissioners elect one of their members as chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, and treasurer. The Secretary and Treasurer may or may not be a commissioner. Commissioners receive no salary.
