Veterans Affairs Commission
This commission shall act in an advisory capacity to the Mayor and Council of the City of Norfolk regarding issues that may affect veterans’ benefits and services, pursuant to the Norfolk City Code 2.1-62.

Membership Composition:

A minimum of ten (10) Council-appointed members shall be chosen from the following organizations: Fleet Reserve Association, Disabled American Veterans, the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the Vietnam Veterans of America. Members shall serve three-year terms. The Director of the MacArthur Memorial shall serve in an ex-officio capacity.
