The Tree Commission
The Tree Commission advises the city on policies that concern the well-being of trees and other vegetation in the city, while promoting volunteer and education programs, pursuant to the Norfolk City Code 45-27.

Membership Composition:

The Tree Commission shall be composed of nine (9) commissioners appointed by the City Council for a term of three (3) years. The council shall designate the individuals serving for the terms of the initial appointments and shall designate the chairman and initial chairman of the Tree Commission. The city forester shall serve in an ex-officio, nonvoting capacity and as a staff representative of the Department of Recreation, Parks and Open Space.
