Boards/Commissions/Authorities
City Council appoints members to nearly 50 boards, commissions and authorities that have been established to provide a wide range of assistance to the city.

Some work in an advisory capacity to city departments and to City Council, and some provide oversight and policy direction to other governmental agencies.

Members
Membership of boards, commissions and authorities is comprised of residents and, in some instances, appointed and elected officials.

The composition of some boards requires some members from specific organizations or areas of expertise, such as engineering, health care and education.
