Norfolk Criminal Justice Board
This Board developments, establishes and maintains community-based corrections programs, provides the judicial system with sentencing alternatives for certain misdemeanors.

Membership Composition:

The board consists of representatives of the following: a member of the governing body or a city manager, a city executive appointed by the governing body, a general district court judge, the chief magistrate, the chief of police, the sheriff, an attorney for the commonwealth, an attorney who is experienced in the defense of criminal matters, a local educator, an administrator of the community services board, and five (5) citizens from the community. The sixteen (16) board members are appointed by City Council and serve three- year terms. The board selects a chair and other officers it finds appropriate.
