Become a student representative for the Norfolk Environmental Commission!
The Norfolk Environmental Commission (NEC) Student Representative Program gives high school students the opportunity to play an important role in their community by serving on the NEC as a regular non-voting member.

All positions are voluntary and unpaid, and are open to any Norfolk Public School high-school applicants residing within Norfolk City limits.

Important Dates

  • March 1 - April 15, 2019 – Applications accepted
  • April 22-26, 2019 – Interviews at each high school
  • April 29, 2019 – Two students selected from each high school
  • May 3, 2019 – Semi-finalists notified
  • May 6-10, 2019 – Interviews for each semi-finalist
  • May 17, 2019 - Selections made and two students notified
