National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration

NOAA's dedicated scientists use cutting-edge research and high-tech instrumentation to provide citizens, planners, emergency managers, and other decision makers with reliable information they need when they need it.

National Weather Service

The National Weather Service (NWS) is the starting point for official government weather forecasts, warning, and meteorological products for forecasting the weather. It is their mission to provide weather, hydrologic, and climate forecasts and warnings for the United States, its territories, adjacent waters, and ocean areas for the protection of life and property and the enhancement of the national economy. NWS data and products form a national information database and infrastructure which can be used by other governmental agencies, the private sector, the public, and the global community.

Wakefield Weather is the City of Norfolk's local National Weather Service Office and is located in Wakefield, VA.
