March 1st through May 31st, Keep Norfolk Beautiful will partner with local organizations and City partners for three months of cleanup and beautification events.

Special Waste Collection Event - April 2022

This drive-thru, drop-off Special Waste Collection Event is free and open to Norfolk residents. Bring household hazardous waste, documents for on-site secure shredding, electronics, and plastic grocery bags and packaging wrap for free, and safe, disposal. The event will be open to residents from 9 AM to 12 PM.

Clean The Bay Day - June 4th, 2022

In partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Keep Norfolk Beautiful and volunteer leaders host cleanups throughout the city on the first Saturday in June. The goal: Clean the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. We look forward to seeing you this year!

The International Coastal Cleanup - September 2022 through October 2022

Keep Norfolk Beautiful and volunteer site leaders host cleanups throughout the city during this two-month event. But, this isn’t your average cleanup. Volunteers will use tracking sheets to record the types and amount of litter found. Volunteer leaders will be needed to host a cleanup at one of the 11 sites that are cleaned every year.

Jam’n Jamz - January 29th, 2022

Every January Friends of Norfolk’s Environment, with Keep Norfolk Beautiful, Environmental Storm Water Management, and Parks and Recreation, distributes free fruit and nut trees. This free event for Norfolk residents helps to increase the City's tree canopy and enhance the quality of our local community and environment!

    • Turn off Granby St onto Lavalette Avenue and enter the park by the tennis courts.
