[ARCHIVED] Police charge man in connection with fatal hit-and-run crash

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have charged a man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a Pennsylvania man Tuesday Night.

Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash

On November 7, 2017, police responded to the intersection of Saint Paul’s Boulevard and E. Charlotte Street for a motor vehicle crash with injuries involving a pedestrian. When first responders arrived, they located John Cutillo III of Philadelphia lying in the roadway unconscious. Despite medical care, Cutillo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pennsylvania man identified in fatal hit-and-run crash

Witnesses told police that a red Jeep SUV was recklessly driving on Saint Paul’s Boulevard when it struck Cutillo while he was attempting to cross the street. The Jeep did not stop.

Friday afternoon, Gregory A. Peterson, 28, of the 400 block of Nicholas Court turned himself into the Police Operations Center located at 3661 E. VA Beach Boulevard and was charged with felony hit-and-run and driving while suspended.

Peterson is being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
