[ARCHIVED] 2 arrested, police look for third ‘armed and dangerous’ suspect in Orchid Avenue homicide

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Two people have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a homicide on Orchid Avenue and police are searching for a third, armed and dangerous, suspect wanted for the same charge.

Jeremy Harris and Becca Banta have been charged with murder following the death of 25-year-old Patrick M. Cochrane of Suffolk that occurred last Thursday night in the 7900 block of Orchid Avenue.

Harris, 27, of the 800 block of Pine Harbor Drive, has been charged with second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and conspiracy.

Banta, 24, of Isle of Wight, has been charged with second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, conspiracy, and accessory to murder.

Both are being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.

A third suspect, Thomas Nesmith, 24, of the 7900 block of Orchid Avenue is wanted for second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and conspiracy.
