[ARCHIVED] Man dies following stabbing on Verdun Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. – (NPD) A man has died following a stabbing at a home on Wednesday evening.
 
Around 8:15 p.m. Officers were dispatched to a home in the 2900 block of Verdun Avenue for the report of an assault in progress. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from a life-threatening stab wound. The man, identified as Joseph A. Warner II, 33, was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. 

The preliminary investigation has revealed that Warner was stabbed by a resident after entering into the home. Police are not looking for any suspects. 

Detectives are continuing to investigate; however, the case will be turned over to the Commonwealth Attorney's Office to determine if any charges will be issued.
