[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police make arrest following Tuesday morning bank robbery

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a bank robbery at Wards Corner.

Around 9:35 a.m. police were dispatched to the Truist Bank branch located at 245 E Little Creek Road for the report of a robbery. When Officers arrived, the suspect had already fled; however, the suspect was located a short time later in the City of Portsmouth and taken into police custody.

As a result of this investigation, Lemar A. Veale Jr., 24, of Norfolk, was charged with robbery, use of a firearm, and threats in writing. 

Veale Jr. is currently being held without bond in the Norfolk City Jail.
