[ARCHIVED] NFK2050 Comprehensive Plan – Phase III Open Houses

NORFOLK, Va. – The City of Norfolk’s Department of City Planning is kicking off Phase III of the NFK2050 Comprehensive Plan update with a series of open houses. Phase III is the final phase of the planning process, resulting in the Draft Comprehensive Plan. All four sessions will be open-house style with a drop-in format and will include opportunities for residents and stakeholders to provide input on the Draft Plan.

  • Tuesday, June 3, 5 – 7 p.m., Jordan-Newby Anchor Branch Library at Broad Creek (1425 Norchester Ave.)
  • Thursday, June 5, 5 – 7 p.m., Southside Boys and Girls Club (701 Berkley Ave. Ext.)
  • Wednesday, June 11, 5 – 7 p.m., Mary D. Pretlow Anchor Branch Library (111 W. Ocean View Ave.)
  • Wednesday, June 18, 5 – 7 p.m., YMCA on Granby (2901 Granby St.)

For those who are unable to attend these events, additional online and in-person opportunities to provide input will be available over the summer.

The NFK2050 plan will serve as the vision of the future of Norfolk and serve as the City’s guiding document for land use planning, zoning and growth management. Plan recommendations chart a course for the City’s efforts in housing, resilience, historic preservation, economic development, mobility and transportation, as well as other topics. Throughout Phases I and II, the NFK2050 team traveled across the City to meet residents and stakeholders where they are and collect input on various aspects of the plan.
