[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police Department’s Animal Protection Unit asking for help in connection with animal cruelty

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Animal Protection Officers are asking for help from the public with an animal cruelty investigation.

On May 31st, Animal Protection Officers responded to Rippard Ave and O'Conner Cresent for the report of an injured animal. When APU Officers arrived, they found a dog inside of a cage. 

The dog was pronounced deceased by APU Officers.  

As they continue to investigate this matter, APU Officers are looking for assistance from the public to locate the owner of the dog. Anyone who knows anything about this investigation is asked to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip through the P3Tips mobile app.
