NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have charged a man following a shooting Thursday afternoon in the 900 block of Bagnall Road that left a woman dead.
Just after 2:00 p.m. on July 10th, police were called to the 900 block of Bagnall Road for the report of a gunshot victim. When Officers arrived, they learned a woman, later identified as Erica J. Wright, 22, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, had been taken to the hospital in a car.
Wright was pronounced deceased shortly after her arrival at the hospital.
As a result of the investigation, Detectives charged Shaiqui M. McKesson, 23, with second-degree murder and use of a firearm.
McKesson was taken into custody in the City of Virginia Beach and is currently being held without bond in the Norfolk City Jail.
Detectives have not released any additional circumstances surrounding this incident.
