NORFOLK, Va. – The City of Norfolk’s offices, including libraries, The Slover, recreation centers, Norfolk Animal Care Center, Commissioner of the Revenue, City Treasurer and the Norfolk Courthouse will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1, in observance of Labor Day. Locations will reopen at regular business hours on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Norfolk beach lifeguards will be on duty at Community Beach Park (700 E. Ocean View Ave.) and Ocean View Beach Park (100 W. Ocean View Ave.) from noon to 6 p.m. daily through the Labor Day holiday. Lifeguards are not on duty at Sarah Constant Beach Park (300 W. Ocean View Ave.) and patrons swim at their own risk.
Requests for bulk waste collection for Tuesday, Sept. 2, must be received before 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29. To schedule bulk waste collection, submit a service request via the MyNorfolk app, MyNorfolk.org online portal or by calling the Norfolk Cares Assistance Center at (757) 664-6510.
The SPSA Norfolk Transfer Station will be open Monday, Sept. 1, from 8 a.m. to noon.
