[ARCHIVED] NPD Arrest Suspect for Shooting a 14-Year-Old


Police arrested 35-year-old, Mitchell R. Grice, of the 6300 block of Chesapeake Boulevard, and have charged him with Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm, and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon. He was charged with the shooting incident that occurred on 08/24/2014 at 2313 Tidewater Drive, where a 14-year-old was found shot. He is currently held in Norfolk City Jail.

Previous Release:

On 08/24/2014, around 9:35 P.M., a call was received in the Emergency Communications Center for a gunshot disturbance outside of 2313 Tidewater Drive. Norfolk Police and Fire Rescue responded and discovered one 14-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect has been described as a black male with a medium complexion, approximately 5’6”, goatee, wearing a black fitted style baseball hat, and a white t-shirt.
